As the thinnest and most shallow standard configuration in the form deck family, it is optimized for short-span layouts and thin concrete floor systems. Because it features a smooth surface profile with no interlocking mechanical embossments, it does not achieve a composite bond with the cured concrete . Its primary purpose is to act as a legal structural mold to support the weight of fluid concrete and construction personnel during the pouring phase, while the long-term structural load relies entirely on internal steel rebar or wire mesh embedded within the slab.
